Eagle Lake was settled in the 1840's by Acadian-French and Irish immigrants.  Eagle Lake covers 5,581 acres and has depths of 138 feet.  Our lake is outstanding sport fishing for Salmon, Trout and Togue.  Eagle Lake spawns the Fish River which empties into the St. John River at Fort Kent. Kayaking the Fish River is an amazing and thrilling experience. The Fish River is closely located to Birch Haven and is a great day trip by Kayak to Fort Kent.
